Privacy Policy

1. Overview

SkillCore is a proficiency operating system for skilled-trade shops. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — including how to delete your account and personal data. We collect only what we need to operate the service for you and your shop.

2. Information we collect

• Account information — your name and email address, captured at sign-up and shown on verifications, audit logs, and your Skill Passport.
• Shop and role data — the organization you belong to, your role(s), and the skills, assessments, verifications, and training records associated with your account.
• Usage and device data — basic technical information needed to keep the app secure and reliable.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to provide the service, maintain audit-ready records of proficiency and verifications, secure your account, and communicate with you about the service. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your contact details with third parties for their own marketing.

4. How we share information

Your proficiency and verification data is visible to authorized members of your shop according to their role. We use trusted infrastructure providers to host and operate the service; they process data on our behalf under contract. We may disclose information where required by law.

5. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Verifications are append-only and maintained as part of the audit record; when a verification is withdrawn it is marked revoked rather than hard-deleted. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed as described below.

6. How to delete your account and data

You can delete your SkillCore account and personal data in two ways. See /delete-account for a plain-English overview of what is deleted and what is retained.

In the app (Settings → Delete Account)

1. Sign in to SkillCore.
2. Open Settings and scroll to the Delete account section.
3. Type your account email to confirm, then choose Permanently delete account.

This permanently removes your personal data and removes you from your shop's roster. This action cannot be undone.

Request deletion by email

If you can't sign in, or you'd prefer we handle it, email support@otechlabs.io from the email address on your account with the subject "Account and data deletion request." We will verify your identity and delete your account and associated personal data.

Some records may be retained only where required for legal, security, or audit-integrity reasons, in de-identified form where possible.

7. Security

We protect your data with role-based access controls, row-level security, and audited server functions. Access to shop data is limited to authorized members of that shop.

8. Children's privacy

SkillCore is intended for use by employees of the shops that adopt it and is not directed to children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
